Dwarka e-way buyers lashout at Delhi minister for Delay
NEW DELHI: Representatives of home buyers on Dwarka Expressway have blamed the Delhi Government and Particularly its Public Works Department (PWD) minister Satendra Jain for Delay in Green Clearance for the Project.
They alleged that Jain was “more keen on cutting the ribbon for project rather than giving green clearance” for the expressway which has held up the project from taking off.
Speaking to reporters, the Dwarka Expressway Welfare Association representatives alleged that “Political Ego” has come in the way of expressway project. They said the association representatives recently met jain as advised by Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal. The representatives alleged that jain went to the extent of saying why NHAI was not going for elevated stretch on the entire Delhi portion to avoid cutting trees and also said he could have build the project at low cost.
“We are interested not in politics. Both Delhi and Centre should come to help people who have suffered due to the delay” the Association said.
Association’s vice president Komal Ahuja said, “We met PWD minister of Delhi government on this (green clearance) issues and his response was unsatisfactory which
indicates his intentions to delay it more. This expressway has already missed more than 10 Deadlines and is delayed by more than eight years.”
Builders had lured home-buyers and other investors soon after the 29-Km expressway was first proposed in 2007-08.
The association claimed NHAI had shared the proposal in earlier this year with Delhi government and had also agreed to bear cost for transplantation/afforestation. It will be significant reduction of traffic and air pollution Level on NH-8.
