India has seen a major development in its infrastructure sector in past few years. There have been
various Initiatives taken which are related to new highways and the extension of existing ones as a part
of development. Dwarka Expressway is one of the dream projects which will provide a better roadway
service to transporters in Delhi and around the National Capital Region in Haryana. The highway is still
under work and is expected to be fully functional by December 2019.
Dwarka Express way is a 29 km long way which connects Mahipalpur in Delhi to Kherki Daula in
gurugram. It is expected to decrease crowd in Delhi Gurgaon expressway reducing the travel time by 10
to 15 minutes. It is also a sigh of relief for those home buyers who have invested heavily in housing
projects located on this route.
Earlier, this project was on a hold for long due to various obstacles. The task was stuck because of issues
in Land Acquisition at New Palam Vihar and Kherki Daula. The Haryana Urban Development Authority
(Huda) had issued a notification to 50 mortgage holders in New Palam Vihar Sector 110 and Kherki Daula
in Sector 84 whose properties were on the land required for the new interstate. They were advised to
clear their homes within 24 hours or face obliteration. Huda began wrecking houses on Saturday, that
day when the Punjab and Haryana high court remained the destruction drive. In any case, when the
court issued the stay arrange, 25 homes had just been crushed.

being built from north-to-south running Northern Peripheral Road to Terminal 3 of Indira Gandhi
International Airport. It was announced in November 2017.
